Customer tested and preferred, the new Hilti SD 4500 Drywall Screwdriver delivers top performance and superior handling for drywall installation. With increased power and torque, and innovative design features like an easy-to-remove depth gauge and air outlets angled away from the operator, the SD 4500 is the better choice.

The perfect all-around tool, the powerful 6.5 amp SD 4500 operates at 4,500 revolutions per minute (rpm) to provide the power and torque needed for framing with the speed needed for hanging drywall. Its high torque provides optimal performance for drywall applications and its screwdriving capacity remains consistent regardless of the contact pressure for results that last longer and are more reliable than traditional pneumatic nailing methods.

Because job sites put both you and your tools to the test, the traditionally-designed SD 4500 includes several innovative features to help make your job easier. An innovative air outlet, located at the front of the tool, helps prevent dust from blowing into the operator's face, and a narrow nosepiece enables the operator to maneuver the tool easily in small spaces. The SD 4500's lightweight, easy-to-remove depth gauge enables quick, easy bit changes. Additionally, the tool's lightweight, ergonomic design provides exceptional balance to reduce operator fatigue, and a soft rubber grip and finger grooves offer even more working comfort to help increase productivity. For greater mobility on the job site, the SD 4500 comes standard with a 15-foot two-prong cord. The screwdriver is also available with a 50-foot cord and with or without a twist lock to meet regional needs. For additional comfort and flexibility, the SD 4500 can be used alone, or with the Hilti SMI 55 Plus Magazine to fasten collated screws for faster screwdriving and improved contact pressure with less jamming. An innovative connection allows the SMI 55 Plus Magazine to snap easily into place, making the change from single to collated screws a snap.

The Hilti SME Extension can also be added for working in an upright position on floors and ceilings. A unique snap-on connection allows you to convert the tool quickly and easily from a hand-held to stand-up system, eliminating the need for scaffolds and ladders. And because it's less tiring to use for repetitive applications, the system promotes the operator's comfort and productivity.
