The Construction Specifications Institute announced that the Firestop Contractors International Association has become a participant in BuildCertified.com. The names and contact information for FCIA member FM 4991 Approved Contractor firms are now part of the Web site's database.

BuildCertified.com is a searchable database enabling building owners, architects, contractors and others to search for local certified practitioners in building design, construction and facility management. Created and administered by CSI, and hosted by SpecSource.com, BuildCertified.com has detailed information on nearly 16,000 professionals who've established their qualifications by becoming certified.

CSI lists those holding its Construction Documents Technologist certificate and also its certified construction specifiers, certified construction contract administrators, and certified construction product representatives on BuildCertified.com. Also listing their certified members are: the American Society of Professional Estimators, the Roof Consultants Institute, the Associated Landscape Contractors of America, the Construction Management Association of America, the Door and Hardware Institute, and the Architectural Woodwork Institute.

The FCIA is a not-for-profit group of specialty firestopping contractors from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. For more information on the FCIA, and FM 4991 Approved Contractor firms that employ FM-tested "Designated Responsible Individuals," visit www.fcia.org.
