Fire taping is now much simpler using E-Z Taping Systems Mudless Fire Tape. The conventional method of taping fire walls relied on a combination of tape and mud. Mud is no longer needed on joints of one-hour fire-resistive assemblies when using the approved mudless fire tape system. This self-adhesive application saves up to 60-percent installation time over conventional methods and works with both wood and steel construction.

Apply Fire Tape to joints and angles of clean, dry, fire-rated drywall products only. Be sure the pressure-sensitive adhesive contacts the gypsum board at all times

Apply sufficient pressure to the tape with a 3-inch plastic knife to aggressively adhere the tape to gypsum board. Use a corner roller to adhere tape in the angles.
