EIMA recently developed an article that compares the cooling and heating costs of two homes built next to one another in a suburban development near Charlotte, N.C. The homes are virtually identical, except that one is clad with EIFS and the other a brick exterior.
The EIFS home costs 28 percent less to heat and cool than the home with brick, according to a 21-month energy audit of the two homes. This is the first time EIMA has had access to this type of an energy cost comparison.
