National Gypsum Co. recently received a United States patent for its GridMarX Wallboard. Blue Xs and dashes on the face paper of GridMarX make it faster and easier for drywall installers to fasten wallboard to the framing behind it. It was the industry’s first wallboard with a printed fastening guide, introduced in 2003. Since then, nearly all NGC wallboard products feature the trademark GridMarX.
An NGC team of Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering and R&D professionals developed the process that accurately prints Xs and dashes on the wallboard at all National Gypsum plants.
