Worthington Industries Inc. has consolidated a part of its metal framing business that serves the military and single-family residential construction markets under the newly created Worthington Integrated Building Systems.
Previously, the Columbus-based steel processor’s subsidiary, Dietrich Industries Inc., managed the design, construction and installation of military, commercial and residential metal framing through three independent segments. With the establishment of Worthington Integrated Building Systems, all residential and military steel framing will be handled separately while Dietrich will maintain commercial construction operations.
“This approach leverages our manufacturing capabilities and provides architects and developers a single solution for their building and construction needs,” CEO John P. McConnell said in a release.
The company has tapped Ralph Roberts, senior vice president of marketing, as president of the new division.
