The National One Coat Stucco Association has completed
extensive laboratory testing to develop performance criteria to verify one-coat
stucco performance of the drainage plane.
The purpose of this test program was to demonstrate that for
one coat stucco systems where a weather resistive barrier, meeting the
requirements of Section 1404.2 of the 2006 International Building Code, is
installed behind the EPS foam, adequate drainage of water occurs.
The tests were performed by the association and its members
to meet new requirements of the International Code Council Evaluation Service
for the drainage plane located behind cementitious exterior wall
coverings.
The ICC-ES requires Evaluation Reports issued on or after
the effective date of July 1, 2007 and falling within the scope of this
criteria to comply with the revised criteria – AC11 – 3.2.10.
The Specialized Testing of Santa Fe Springs, Calif.,
conducted the tests.
