A simple inquiry about National Gypsum's New Gold Bond BRAND e2XP Extended Exposure Sheathing product turned into a winning move for Nevada architect Ben Canizaro.

Canizaro was named winner of National Gypsum's "Color Purple” contest, held during CONSTRUCT2008 in June as part of the rollout of the new addition to its XP product line. Named for its ability to endure extended exposure (e2) to the elements and produced in the purple signature color of National Gypsum's XP product line, e2XP Sheathing is a mold- and moisture-resistant exterior panel that functions as the primary substrate on most commercial buildings.

"I've used the National Gypsum brand for over 30 years because I know I can always trust the quality of their products,” said Canizaro, owner of Canizaro Consulting. "I stopped by the booth because I was interested in finding out about new products. I never thought that I would win.”

As winner, Canizaro and his wife Bonnie were treated to an all-expenses-paid trip to Atlanta, where they enjoyed a two-night stay at a five-star hotel, dinner, and a stage production of "The Color Purple.” The couple was accompanied to dinner by Bill Cook, construction design manager for National Gypsum's Atlanta division.
