National Gypsum Co. announced it has introduced Web-based
order request capability through itsNGC4Me.comcustomer service extranet.
The feature enables customers to send order request to the
company’s Customer Service Center through theNGC4Me.comcustomer interface.
The gypsum manufacturer completed a successful pilot of this process during the
fourth quarter of 2008.
“Customers have indicated an interest in placing orders
through the internet,” said Jack Rech, senior director of Information Systems.
“We wanted to offer customers access to that additional channel as an extension
of our traditional customer service capabilities.”
“We had observed customers e-mailing orders to our Customer
Service Center and determined there was significant interest in web-based order
capability after conduction customer interviews and surveys,” said Bonnie
Herdt, manager of Customer Service. “It is our intent to provide a superior
customer service experience for our customers through their preferred channel
of communications.”
