MiTek Industries Inc., supplier of engineered connector products, equipment, software and services for the residential building components industry, has announced that it will acquire full ownership of Aegis Metal Framing LLC, provider of pre-fabricated cold-formed steel framing products. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Aegis was launched in 2002 as a joint venture of Dietrich Metal Framing and MiTek. When this transaction closes in early January 2009, Aegis will become a wholly owned division of MiTek. The entire Aegis team will remain in place to support continuing operations and capitalize on growth opportunities as the commercial construction market recovers.
