CertainTeed Gypsum has opened a gypsum finishing products plant in Las Vegas to produce the company’s ProRoc finishing products.

CertainTeed Gypsum has opened a gypsum finishing products plant in Las Vegas. The new facility produces the company’s ProRoc finishing products, including ready-mix joint compounds, setting-type joint compounds and powdered textures. Along with the existing CertainTeed Gypsum wallboard facility in Las Vegas, the company now offers both ProRoc gypsum board and finishing products in a single shipment.

“Our customers in the southwest have asked us for a full interior finishing system consisting of ProRoc gypsum board, joint treatments and tapes,” said Bernie Owens, general manager for CertainTeed Gypsum Finishing Products. “This expansion helps us achieve our goal of being their preferred choice for innovative building products and systems.”

Located in the Civic Center Industrial Park in North Las Vegas, the plant utilizes World-Class Manufacturing guidelines and achieved a perfect safety record during the construction and commissioning of the facility.

“The addition of a finishing products plant in Las Vegas builds upon the very successful entry and growth model we have established in the Pacific Northwest through our Kent, Washington facility,” added John Donaldson, president of CertainTeed Gypsum. “With the close proximity of our manufacturing facilities for gypsum board and finishing products, we are well prepared to serve as the full-line supplier of gypsum products to new and existing customers.”
