Parex USA Inc. has launched the new “California Energy Code
and Parex USA Solutions” brochure.
This brochure explains the new code and how continuous exterior insulation
helps meet the requirements of Title 24 in California. With the use of energy moving to
the forefront of the construction industry, construction of new structures has
a direct impact on the environment as buildings are the single largest consumer
of energy. The United States
is experiencing a strong move toward regulations that promote high efficiency
structures. California
has taken the lead and enacted regulations of significance for new construction
of commercial and residential buildings.
“Everywhere you look, the impact of energy usage and environmental concerns can
be seen and felt,” Quenton Roehricht, brand manager with the company, said.
“With structures accounting for the vast majority of energy use it is
imperative from an operating cost perspective and environmental stewardship
that we seek ways to limit the amount of energy consumed by the structures in
our country.”
The new requirements make it difficult for many climate zones in California to meet code
without the use of continuous insulation. The new brochure outlines how EIFS
and insulated stucco assemblies provide an easy solution. Also included is an
easy to understand method of determining how much continuous insulation is
needed.
“In California,
Part 6 of Title 24 is having a significant impact on energy usage of new
buildings,” Roehricht said. “This piece was developed to help the building
community understand how these changes may impact them and the solutions that
Parex USA can provide to help them achieve meeting these new requirements.”
