Convenience Products,
the manufacturer of Touch ‘n Seal Insulating Foams and Sealants for new
construction and retrofit applications, announces its ASTM E-84 Class 1 Flame
Retardant spray foam insulations, Low Density (1 pcf) and Medium Densities
(1.75pcf and 2.0pcf) have passed the requirements of NFPA 286 (room
corner fire test). These three polyurethane foams meet the requirements set
forth in the 2006 IBC section 803.2.1/2009 IBC Section 803.1.2, which
eliminates the need for a thermal or ignition barrier. The code approved,
two-component polyurethane foam can be left exposed in commercial roof/wall
junctures at a maximum of 6 inches high and 2 inches deep with unlimited
length. Contact the manufacturer for details and
limitations.
