USG announced a partnership with A&E’s “Flipping Boston” television series. The manufacturer is providing its support by donating building materials to episodes throughout the duration of the series’ second season.
A&E’s “Flipping Boston” follows CityLight Home’s Peter Souhleris and David Seymour, an architect and a firefighter who teamed up several years ago to rejuvenate historic homes in the Greater Boston area. Season One of the series was A&E's highest rated lifestyle series launch ever.
In the Season Two premiere, Souhleris and Seymour will help turn a dilapidated two-story colonial into a pair of two-bedroom condominiums. They will be mentoring a pair of “frat-boy” house flippers who are new to the flipping game. For this flip, the two hosts throw a little competition in to the mix, each pairing up with one of the frat boys to flip a unit.
“We’re excited to showcase our building materials in real life applications and demonstrate how our products and solutions can help solve construction issues like tight timelines, mold and more,” says USG’s Director of Marketing Linda McGovern. “We’ve seen great reward in partnering with TV series like these in the past, including ‘Flip This House’ and ‘Extreme Makeover Home Edition,’ and we’re looking forward to working with the ‘Flipping Boston’ team throughout this season.”
The manufacturers’ building materials provided to the series include Sheetrock Brand UltraLight Panels, Durock cement board Next Gen, UltraLightweight All Purpose Joint Compound, Sheetrock paper-faced metal corner bead, joint tape, Imperial Gypsum Base panels and Diamond Veneer Finish Plaster.
USG partnered with local building materials dealer, The Robert N. Karpp Co. to fulfill and deliver materials to each renovation project.
