The Gypsum Association announces the publication of its revised application standard, GA-216-2013, Application and Finishing of Gypsum Panel Products.

New to this edition are revised specifications for the installation of control joints in ceilings and the finishing of exterior soffits and ceilings. This revision also has added language that addresses the texturing and painting of gypsum panel products and reinforces the distinction between the two processes.

GA-216 is referenced in Chapter 25 of the International Building Code as an appropriate standard for the application and installation of gypsum board and panels. Copies of the document may be purchased or viewed online from the association’s Web site at www.gypsum.org.
