Kingspan Insulated Panels Inc. recently designated its DeLand manufacturing facility as the global corporation’s new North American headquarters. Kingspan and the city of DeLand, Fla., honored this event with a formal afternoon ribbon cutting ceremony on June 26 at the plant on 726 Summerhill Drive.
Kingspan executives joined city and state officials on the podium during the event, providing insight into Kingspan as a company and highlighting the positive opportunities Kingspan’s activities will present for the Central Florida community and economy. They also described Kingspan’s important leadership role globally in energy efficient construction and sustainable design, and how that role will continue expanding into North America.
“We are pleased to contribute positive momentum to the Central Florida economy,” said Fergal Murphy, vice president of sales U.S., Kingspan. “We also know that North America is a key market for energy efficient building, so we’re excited to grow the Kingspan business here.”
Kingspan already revealed that investments and upgrades are adding capacity to the current production lines in the existing plant. As these projects develop, they anticipate initially adding a minimum of 40 new jobs at this location alone.
Kingspan currently employs 132 individuals at the DeLand location, and more than 6,000 worldwide. The company anticipates consistent, significant growth throughout North America during the next five to 10 years.
