ClarkDietrich Building Systems was again a sponsor of the national SkillsUSA Championships held late June in Kansas City, Mo. During the nearly weeklong event, more than 5,600 occupational and technical education students—all state contest winners—competed in 98 different trade and leadership fields. As part of the company’s sponsorship, ClarkDietrich donated its MaxTrak Slotted Deflection Track and ProSTUD Drywall Framing System products for the carpentry and building portions of the competition.
“ClarkDietrich is a long-time supporter of the SkillsUSA competition and its unwavering commitment to providing students with technical and real-world experience that will help them excel in their trade,” said Terry Westerman, vice president of marketing, ClarkDietrich Building Systems. “This type of training not only benefits the students, but also helps advance the construction industry with new techniques.”
SkillsUSA helps establish industry standards for job skill training in the classroom and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and U.S. Department of Labor. The organization serves more than 300,000 students and instructors annually. The organization has 13,000 school chapters in 54 state and territorial associations.
