Recreation Development Company LLC announced it was awarded the subcontract for the architectural metalwork for The Shops at Summerlin. RDC’s architectural metalwork package includes sunshades and canopies.

The Shops at Summerlin, a regional mixed-use development site, will be part of a planned urban center which will serve the entire Las Vegas Valley with over 125 shops and restaurants in an open-air shopping environment.

RDC’s work on the development is now underway with assistance from General Contractor VCC LLC and the design team of ELS Architecture and Urban Design and Altoon Partners LLP. The $5.5 million project is expected to be completed in June 2014.

The Shops at Summerlin development begins the creation of Downtown Summerlin. When complete, it will include retail, entertainment, office and multi-family residences, designed to create a vibrant, walkable downtown in the heart of the affluent 22,500-acre master planned community.
