The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) will hold its 59th Annual Meeting and Education Conference (AMEC), Sept. 3-6, in Indianapolis, Ind. at the J.W. Marriott Indianapolis Downtown. The NAWIC AMEC is made possible in large part to the generous support of NAWIC’s sponsors. The Blue Ribbon AMEC sponsors this year are United Rentals and UPS.
Founded in 1997, United Rentals has become the world’s largest equipment rental provider, with an integrated network of 832 rental locations in 49 states and 10 Canadian provinces, and more than $7 billion OEC of rental fleet including 3,100 classes of equipment.
UPS is a global leader in logistics, offering a broad range of solutions including the transportation of packages and freight; the facilitation of international trade, and the deployment of advanced technology to more efficiently manage the world of business. Headquartered in Atlanta, UPS serves more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
“We are delighted to have United Rentals, UPS and all our sponsors join us at our annual conference,” said Yasmine Branden, CCA, NAWIC President. “It’s a pleasure to work closely with companies that closely align with our core principles of diversity, integrity and workforce development.”
Other NAWIC AMEC sponsors include SimplexGrinnell at the Purple Ribbon level; Paxton Patterson and Infor AMSI at the Green Ribbon level; Acuity/M.J. Schuetz Insurance Services, Arsee Engineers, Henkel and LP Building Products at the Orange Ribbon level; and The Home Depot at the White Ribbon level.
NAWIC’s mission is to enhance the success of women in the construction industry. The NAWIC AMEC is a powerful tool in accomplishing that goal. The conference features 28 seminars and workshops targeted to women and the construction industry. Two keynote speakers, Stace Hanke, “Speak to be Heard,” and Dr. Jenne Britell, Chairman of the Board of United Rentals will address AMEC attendees.
