Kingspan Insulated Panels North America announced that Paul Bertram, Kingspan’s Director of Environment and Sustainability, has been nominated to be a member of the Green Building Assessment Protocol for Commercial Building's Consensus Body as Vice Chair of the Energy Committee. The Consensus Body is comprised of industry experts representing individuals interested in Green Building standards for both new and pre-existing constructions.
In 2005, the Green Building Initiative (GBI) was accredited as a standards developer through the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).The GBI developed the ANSI/GBI 01-2010: Green Building Assessment Protocol for Commercial Buildings to guide the development of Green Globes products. In 2011 the GBI developed the Guiding Principles Compliance Program (GPC) to measure compliance with the Federal Guiding Principles for Sustainable Buildings as required by Executive Order 13514 signed in 2009.
This standard, officially named ANSI/GBI 01-2010: Green Building Assessment Protocol for Commercial Buildings was derived from the Green Globes environmental design and assessment rating system for New Construction, and was formally approved on March 24, 2010. The standard will undergo complete revision during 2014 and 2015.

Bertram is a team member at Kingspan, responsible for environmental and energy-efficiency strategies along with a focus on environment & sustainability. He is past President of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), as well as a member of the International Code Council, the U.S. Green Building Council, ASHRAE, ASTM’s Committee E60 - Sustainability & E06 - Building Performance, RCI and a member of the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS). He also serves on the advisory board of directors for the Building Enclosure Technology and Environment Council (BETEC).
