Boral announced a Global Sponsorship for the 2015 Katz Roadshow. Designed to educate construction professionals about new products, installation techniques and building practices, the Katz Roadshow will visit 26 locations during the 2015 tour. As part of the daylong clinics, master craftsmen Gary Katz and Mike Sloggatt will walk participants through a series of demonstrations.
The Roadshow crew will address a number of common carpentry questions by detailing best practice installation techniques, including the use of products such as Boral’s TruExterior Siding and Trim and Boral Versetta Stone. A number of other construction practices and concerns will be discussed, including framing, finishing and product durability.
Billed as “a unique, strategic partnership of leading manufacturers and installation specialists,” the yearlong lumberyard tour will crisscross the U.S. and make stops in 17 states. The show’s namesake, Katz, has devoted a lifetime to expanding the importance of proper craftsmanship. A frequent contributor to a number of popular trade magazines, Katz has authored three books and a DVD series. A 30-year veteran of the construction industry, Sloggatt is a regular seminar presenter at industry tradeshows as well as a frequent attendee at association meetings of regional builder and material groups and lumberyards.
“By elevating our relationship with the Katz Roadshow to the Global Sponsorship level, we are showing a commitment to improving the quality of workmanship in our industry,” said Tom Zimmerman, Director of Sales and Marketing for Boral’s Light Building Products Division. “It is important to educate our tradesman on new and improved products, solutions, and building practices.”
