CEMCO has announced the retirement of Richard Poliquin, president and founding partner of CEMCO, manufacturer of steel framing and metal lath products and accessories. Poliquin has been honored by the company’s board of directors, presenting him with the title President-Emeritus. Executive Vice-President Tom Porter will succeed Poliquin as President of CEMCO effective immediately.
Richard Poliquin and his brother Raymond Poliquin (1921-2005) purchased CEMCO in 1980. For over 3 decades, Richard was immersed in the continued development and success of CEMCO. Richard’s latest contribution to the industry is Safety Edged Technology, which greatly increases the safety of handling many of CEMCO’s steel framing products. Richard’s influence, given his 25 year tenure with Western Metal Lath and 35 years at CEMCO, will be felt for generations to come in both the metal lath and steel framing industries.
As president, Porter will continue to focus on creating growth and innovation for CEMCO. Porter’s thirty-plus years as a leader in the construction products industries which started with Owens-Corning, will be paramount in the continued success of the company.
CEMCO’s CEO Ted Poliquin states "Rich has been an integral part of the company’s success and we remain grateful for his vast contributions over his 35 years at CEMCO. Both he and I look forward to seeing Tom succeed in his new responsibilities.”
