Linamar Corporation’s Skyjack division was far from minimal in spreading cheer this past holiday season. Skyjack donated the use of a new SJ66 T boom lift to help Our Lady of the Annunciation Church in Richmond Hill, Ontario, install Christmas lights.
Skyjack partnered with local construction equipment rental provider and long-time partner, Cooper Equipment Rentals to install over 1,500 feet of lights using the SJ66 T boom lift.
“Skyjack has a long standing relationship with Cooper Equipment Rentals, so when we asked them to work with us on this project, they immediately agreed to participate and take care of the delivery of the SJ66 T,” says Peter Bissonnette, vice president of sales, Northeast region, Skyjack. “Keeping in nature of the campaign and the holiday season, Skyjack donated the use of the telescopic boom lift free of charge and Cooper Equipment Rentals graciously waived the delivery fee, as well as the fuel and inspection costs for the event.”
Wuthering Heights
Skyjack worked with Our Lady of the Annunciation Church as a part of the company’s 30 For 30 Partners campaign, which celebrates the company’s 30th anniversary in business. The church is the home parish of Skyjack employees in the local community. As a part of the campaign, Skyjack and Cooper Equipment Rentals covered all costs for the installation.
The SJ66 T boom lift was used to install lights on two 50-ft trees outside the church and along the edge of the roof. The tree lighting ceremony took place on Dec. 18, 2015, and was followed by a holiday celebration including caroling, hot chocolate and a visit from Santa.
With a working height of 72-feet and platform height of 66-feet, the SJ66 T was the perfect machine to decorate the 50-ft trees outside of the church, all the way up to the very top. The telescopic boom lift can support 26,700 pounds and is capable of 360 degree continuous rotation.
Since February 2015, Skyjack has completed more than a dozen projects as a part of its 30 FOR 30 PARTNERS campaign, including assisting the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in the UK, helping the Houston Food Bank, making over rundown sites in Germany with Industrie Brachen um Gestaltung, and installing a beluga whale fossil at the Aquatarium. Skyjack is supporting 30 different charitable and community-oriented projects worldwide through February 2016.
