Simpson Strong-Tie donated $10,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to assist Hurricane Matthew relief efforts.

The devastating effects of Hurricane Matthew were felt throughout the southeastern states, while communities in Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic continue to struggle to recover. More than 1,300 people died from the natural disaster.

The Red Cross mobilized disaster relief workers, emergency response vehicles and supplies across at-risk states. More than 3,000 Red Cross disaster workers are on the ground to support the widespread sheltering effort. Since Hurricane Matthew first hit the United States, the American Red Cross and community partners have served over a million meals and snacks, and provided 97,000 overnight stays.

"We continue to keep everyone affected by the hurricane and its after-effects in our thoughts," said Simpson Strong-Tie CEO Karen Colonias. “We encourage everyone to continue to help in whatever way they can.”
