Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS)—a non-profit organization connecting individuals from underserved populations with transformative career opportunities— announced the expansion of its engagement with Turner Construction Company.
Through WOS Managed Services, three individuals from underserved communities have been recruited and trained to provide Turner employees with service desk support. Their services will be provided over a 12-week period and will be outsourced from WOS offices in Dallas, TX.
Turner and WOS first partnered in 2015 to place talent in service desk positions in Dallas and St. Louis. Since then, nine individuals from underserved communities in four cities, including military veterans, have been placed on-site at Turner by WOS.
"WOS serves as a valuable source of talent for our organization as we seek to build a diverse and inclusive workplace in which all employees contribute creative ideas, seek challenges, and have the opportunity to grow," said Warren Kudman, chief information officer at Turner Construction Company.
"WOS is thrilled to expand its partnership with Turner, a long-time and valued partner of ours," says Dr. Art Langer, founder and chairman of WOS. "Our relationship started when Warren Kudman, Turner's CIO (at the time he was at Sealed Air), contacted me after reading an article about WOS in Business Week.
Dr.Langer adds, “since then, Kudman has been committed to integrating talent from underserved communities into the workforce and a tremendous supporter of the good work WOS does for these communities. I am thrilled WOS can help Turner fulfill its talent needs while also providing opportunities for underserved individuals—we are also excited to now offer a full-range of Gig economy solutions as part of our extended offerings to businesses," adds Dr. Langer.
