Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) Industry Members Association (EIMA) is seeking a dynamic professional with experience in advocacy to continue building a pro-active program to advance the goals of the association for the Senior Manager of Regulatory and Technical Affairs position. The qualified candidate will participate in expanding an active regulatory and technical program that identifies opportunities to advance the attributes of the Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (construction material) and to make news about the economic and environmental benefits of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS).
This will include: representing EIMA and the EIFS industry before federal agencies and national organizations related to the real estate and construction industries; representing EIMA before technical groups and attending meetings of these groups; communicating with the EIMA membership about the developments in the building enclosure industry; seeking placement of articles about the technical attributes of EIFS with trade press; contribute to the development of content for the EIMA website; responding to inquires from the press and public, and; writing articles for the association’s newsletter. The qualified candidate will monitor activities of the Department of Energy and other related federal regulatory agencies including the National Institute of Standards and Technology; monitor building codes and standards; advocate the Association’s positions where appropriate before code development bodies, officials and industry stakeholders; and analyze the potential effect of code and standards proposals on the EIFS industry.
These groups include the International Code Council, the National Fire Protection Association, and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanicals Officials.
This position reports to the Executive Director and will assist in providing staff support to an association committee (Technical and Research).
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Architecture, Business, Political Science, Engineering, or Economics, 3-4 years of working for a trade association or a firm within the construction industry. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required. Also, the ability to multi-task and to travel 4-6 times per year is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows (Office and Excel) is needed as well. A four year college degree is required, and professional designation such as AIA or PE is a plus.
