Simpson Strong-Tie donated $10,000 at the end of 2018 to Girls Inc. of Alameda County to help college-bound students in the program equip themselves for university life.

The donation helps provide laptops, suitcases, dorm room necessities and other essentials for girls as they transition into four-year colleges. For the majority, they will be the first in their families to go to college. For many others, it will be the first time they’ve been away from home for an extended period of time. 

“We appreciate the investment Simpson Strong-Tie has made in our girls over the past few years with this annual donation,” said Girls Inc. of Alameda County CEO, Julayne Virgil. “We are grateful for their continued partnership and look forward to serving even more girls well into the future.”
