As women achieve greater levels of parity in leadership roles, trail-blazing professionals in architecture, engineering and construction are focused on supporting and accelerating this trend.

On Thursday, February 21, a group of women holding executive and principal roles will join a panel discussion moderated by Julia McFadden, AIA, Associate Principal of Svigals + Partners, as part of the 2019 Women Who Build Summit. Hosted by The Construction Institute of the University of Hartford, the program promotes achievement among women within the architecture, engineering and construction professions and celebrates the women who inspire other women to enter this field.

Titled “Integrating Life and Work in the AEC World,” the panel will focus on innovative approaches to employee engagement and how work environments that foster life-work balance generate greater job satisfaction and productivity.

“Executives and managers do well to recognize each employee as an individual, with unique experiences and personal challenges they may face,” says McFadden. “I’m looking forward to this discussion, and hearing from the panel the range of approaches to supporting employees — men and women — in achieving a synergistic integration of work and life.”
