Construction is a major theme in Scott’s life. From a B.S. in Construction Engineering at Iowa State University to major home construction projects and helping to lead Heartland, Scott has been immersed in construction for years. When an accident resulted in a broken back in 2010, he slowed down a little, but is still helping Heartland Companies grow. Scott loves Iowa State athletics and bleeds cardinal and gold. Scott is active in the Des Moines Construction Council as a board member; Master Builders of Iowa as a Board member and as a member on various committees; CISCA of course as well as AWCI as well as a Trustee on the Painters’ Health and Welfare Fund, the Central Iowa Carpenter’s Pension Fund, and the NCSRCC Apprenticeship Fund. He’s also a member of both St. Mary’s/Holy Cross Church and the Emmaus House Facility Committees and Director of the State Rehab Council in Iowa. Scott loves to travel or just simply spend time at his acreage or at the lake. People who know Scott will tell you he is good at integrating fun and work. At Heartland, we have a very fun atmosphere in our office. We get down to business when we need to, yet always with a light-hearted mood. When you enjoy what you do and your office surroundings, it makes coming to work very enjoyable. Scott has 3 children ranging in ages from 13-20.
CISCA thanks Kelly Johnson, Kelly’s family and the Specified organization for Kelly’s contribution to CISCA and all of its constituents as our 2019-2020 President. Kelly led the group during its most unusual time in history and did a wonderful job keeping the team together and focused. Thank you Kelly!
