Hurricane Laura made landfall early Thursday morning in Louisiana as a Category 4 hurricane, causing massive damage with winds reaching 150 mph and more than 9 feet of storm surge. Buildings were ripped to pieces, walls were torn from commercial buildings, vehicles toppled over, and more than 550,000 were left without power.
Walls & Ceilings Publisher Jill Bloom and Walls & Ceilings Editor John Wyatt spoke virtually with Cotney Construction Law CEO Trent Cotney about how contractors are preparing to help rebuild in the powerful storm's wake while dealing with safety protocols for COVID-19 and supply chain limitations.
