PREPARING CONTRACTORS, ESSENTIAL WORKERS FOR COVID-19 VACCINATIONS
News of COVID-19 vaccinations is putting a lot of optimism in the roofing and construction industries as a very challenging 2020 comes to a close. But where do contractors fit in on the distribution cycle? Trent Cotney, CEO of Cotney Construction Law, shared his thoughts on that and more in this latest Legal Insights video chat with RC Publisher Jill Bloom, Editorial Director Rick Damato and Editor Art Aisner. “You can probably mandate vaccines, but there will be some caveats,” Cotney said when asked if employers can require immunizations. He said workers could refuse based on existing health conditions or religions reasons, much like current laws governing flu and other vaccinations. Cotney also discussed how COVID-19 is changing the rental market space, and touched on the emerging trend of using switchgrass on green roofs of the future.
