Universal Engineering Sciences' Corporate Director of Occupational Health and Safety, Michelle McIntyre, MPH, CIH, CSP, CHSP, CMC, CIEC, will be delivering two presentations at the Florida Wall and Ceiling Association’s Annual Executive Conference in Orlando, Florida on February 17 and 18, 2021.
A presentation entitled ‘Construction in Healthcare’ will highlight the unique challenges contractors and subcontractors face when performing renovations or demolitions in healthcare facilities. Presentation topics include infection control basics, healthcare regulations, ICRA, hazard identification, containment use and air monitoring, and OSHA related regulations.
The ‘Opioid Use in the Construction Industry’ presentation will allow participants to examine and discuss the growing rate of opioid abuse among construction workers. Presentation topics include what opioids are and how they work, the specific risk factors associated with construction work, associated suicide and other risk factors, and prevention techniques and resources.
The Florida Wall & Ceiling Contractors Association (FWCCA) supports the Florida wall and ceiling industry and consists of contractors and industry allies. Their mission includes providing related resources, continuing education, networking events, and scholarship opportunities.
