Simpson Strong-Tie is again sponsoring the Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley Women’s Leadership Build. The company has donated $45,000 to the Build since the start of its sponsorship in 2018.

This year, as communities cautiously re-emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Build has taken a different form, with a blend of smaller, distanced builds and virtual discussions replacing the usual mass gathering on the construction site. Although the Build looks different this year, its purpose remains the same: celebrating the power of women as leaders in the effort to combat the affordable housing crisis. And seldom has the need for a safe, decent, stable home been more keenly felt — a literal lifeline in a time of struggle.

Simpson Strong-Tie is supporting this keystone event with a $15,000 Gold Sponsorship, making it possible for Habitat to continue building forward through the crisis and beyond. This sponsorship will support the building of 42 affordable homes in Walnut Creek, California, a neighborhood to be known as Esperanza Place. In addition to this critical financial support, a group of women from Simpson Strong-Tie will gather at the construction site later this year to put hammer to nail and build the frames of these future homes.
