As the war between Russia and Ukraine intensifies, the U.S. has called for a ban on imported Russian oil, causing pain points for contractors beyond the gas pump.
“The war is affecting the price of oil and gas, but one of the things that contractors often forget is the amount of petroleum-based products that are in roofing,” said Trent Cotney.
In an industry already feeling the sting from the supply chain crisis and a shortage in truck drivers, things may get worse before they get better. In this Legal Insights video, Cotney discusses what contractors can do to mitigate price increases as the war continues, including a helpful tactic to use when dealing with general contractors regarding price increases in these tough times.
In our previous episode, Cotney provided a broader view of how the war will affect the roofing industry, including immigration and cyberattacks. Listen to the episode here.
Viewers will also learn about the types of contract clauses to keep in mind during these tough times. Many of the tactics may seem familiar to contractors, as they're similar to what they've had to turn to once the COVID-19 pandemic caused delays and supply shortages.
