October Construction Starts

Total construction starts rose 8 percent in October to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.12 trillion.
Nonresidential building starts gained 9 percent, led by office, hotel and education. Nonbuilding starts rose 26 percent, led by highways and bridges. Residential starts fell by 3 percent.
