The Saint-Gobain North America Foundation and building materials subsidiary CertainTeed contributed over $175,000 in siding and insulation products and monetary donations to Volumetric Building Companies Giving Foundation’s Veterans Village Project, a 47-unit new permanent housing community for veterans. In addition to monetary and product donations, a team of Saint-Gobain employees also provided support, solutions and expertise to this important project.
This collaboration comes as Saint-Gobain continues to implement its global Grow and Impact strategy, which includes prioritizing corporate social responsibility and volunteerism in communities where the company does business. With over 900 veterans, reservists or National Guards soldiers, Saint-Gobain is dedicated to the mentorship, camaraderie and service of veterans and military who have given so much to their country.
“As the worldwide leader in light and sustainable construction, it is our ambition at Saint-Gobain to improve lives in our community and make the world a better home,” said Mark Rayfield, President & CEO of Saint-Gobain North America and CertainTeed. “By providing safe, sustainable and high-quality housing products and solutions for the Veterans Village project, we are maximizing our positive impact in the veteran community in Philadelphia. Together with VBC Giving Foundation, we are building the foundations and affecting the lives of the men and women who have selflessly sacrificed for our country.”
“The Saint-Gobain North American team forms an important part of our family, and we could not be prouder of the partnership,” said John P. Jones, SSgt USMC Ret., Executive Director of the VBC Giving Foundation. “Their organization has made a clear commitment to support our nation’s veterans and to provide them with a safe and affordable place to call home. In short, we could not have launched our inaugural Veterans Village without them.”
Saint-Gobain North America and the company’s Veterans Employee Resource Group encourage veterans to join an organization dedicated to those who are currently serving or have served. A current list of job openings at all Saint-Gobain locations can be found on the company’s careers website.
