ATAS International recently announced four new sales team positions, including two district sales managers, an architectural business development manager and a national accounts technical advisor.

In an Oct. 2 news release, the company said the realignment of the sales team will provide “for additional education and communication with the company’s employees and customers.”

Mid-Atlantic District Sales Manager

ATAS’ new Mid-Atlantic District sales manager is Patrick Starr, CSI, who has nearly 30 years of experience in the industry, selling ATAS products throughout that time. Starr earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and joined the ATAS family in 1994.

He worked with ATAS through 1998 and returned to the company in 2014, taking on the product representative position in Pittsburgh to cover western Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio. And in 2017, he was promoted to Midwest District sales manager.

In his new position as Mid-Atlantic District sales manager, the company says Starr will be moving back to the Greater Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, area, where he began with ATAS, to manage the new Mid-Atlantic district. Starr is certified in metal roof installation by the Metal Construction Association.

Midwest District Sales Manager

Dave Willard, CSI, CDT, is ATAS’ new Midwest District sales manager. Willard started at ATAS in 2017 as a product representative for the upstate New York area; he was previously a sales manager for a foundation support construction company and has nine years of industry experience.

He has an associate degree from Erie Community College and is a member of the Buffalo-Western New York Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute. He earned the CSI Construction Documents Technologist certification in 2019 and is certified in metal roof installation by the Metal Construction Association.

Willard received ATAS’ Malan S. Parker Award for Salesman of the Year in 2020 for outstanding sales performance and territory growth.

Architectural Business Development Manager

ATAS’ new architectural business development manager is Jason Richter, Associate AIA, CSI. Richter’s responsibilities include overall architectural business development and national accounts management.

The company says Richter is well-suited for this position, earning a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati and a Diploma 1 in architecture from the University of Portsmouth in England.

He is certified in metal roof installation by the Metal Construction Association; he spent five years working as a project architect or associate in various architectural firms before joining an Ohio manufacturer, where he spent 14 years as architectural sales and product manager. He joined ATAS in 2020 as the product representative for Ohio and portions of Indiana and Kentucky.

National Accounts Technical Advisor

David Jarrett, CSI, CDT, LEED Green Associate, has been named national accounts technical advisor and will assist in growing national accounts nationwide and enhancing relationships with those accounts.

Jarrett will also assist ATAS’ Mesa, Arizona, facility in the technical department. He worked for ATAS for eight years in sales, estimating and production positions. In 2016, he returned to ATAS as the product representative for Arizona and southern Nevada before moving to Tennessee in a similar position.

He has an associate degree in architecture from Lincoln Technical Institute and is certified in metal roof installation by the Metal Construction Association. Jarrett also earned the CSI Construction Documents Technologist certification in 2018 and the LEED Green Associate certification in 2019.

The realignment announcement was hailed by Mark Bus, ATAS’ national sales manager, as a boon to the company in its effort to continue its strategic growth within the industry and better serve the company’s expanding customer base.

“We have seen tremendous growth over the years, which has created additional career opportunities for many of our existing employees, as well as new employees,” Bus said. “I’m pleased that we have so many well-qualified individuals on our sales team and that we were able to assign them new roles to further their development and assist in the future expansion of ATAS.”

Bus also emphasized how the new structure will continue to provide education and training to the company’s internal and external customers and create pathways for the open exchange of ideas to improve or develop new products and services.

“We would not be where we are today without so many of our employees, like Pat Starr, Dave Willard, Jason Richter and David Jarrett,” Bus added. “I congratulate them in their new positions.”
