Registrations are now being accepted through April 30 for the fifth installment of the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance Leadership Development Program. FGIA is pleased to unveil an innovative hybrid format for this edition, combining the flexibility of online, self-paced training spanning 10 main topics with the dynamic interaction of three live Zoom webinars. A schedule is available here.
“This popular training series is back with additional content and tools for those who want to advance their careers by honing their leadership skills, primarily utilizing the flexibility of online training at their own pace,” said Kaydeen Laird, FGIA Education Manager. “Participants will learn how to understand and embrace different personalities and behavior styles, what the best leaders do to grow their teams, how to master giving feedback to team members and much more.”
Training Format
There are 10 main training modules. Registration gets participants online access to these modules as well as access to three live Zoom webinar training sessions. Access to the online training platform will be shared as part of the registration confirmation, and new online content modules will be released in three-week increments. Three Zoom webinars will take place on the following days, but recordings will be made available for those who are unable to participate live.
Training Modules
Program facilitators will cover 10 different topics, exploring different frameworks, routines and behaviors commonly found within the workforce. A first-day review of the Dominance, Influence, Conscientiousness and Steadiness assessment will tell participants more about their own personalities as well as the impact of personality on how people think, communicate and make decisions. Each module’s lessons will build on the previous ones, offering knowledge about the differences between coaching and managing, how to hold people accountable to high standards, ways to manage conflict or tension and other key insights leaders need to know.
