BuildBlock Building Systems, the manufacturer of BuildBlock Insulating Concrete Forms, announced the addition of Frank Gordon, Assoc. AIA, as the vice president for strategic development. Gordon will be leading the marketing, sales and technical teams and bringing them together to build relationships with industry leaders, stakeholders, developers, industry professionals and more, supporting BuildBlock’s growth initiatives.
Prior to joining BuildBlock, Gordon spent five years at the National Ready-Mixed Concrete Association as the senior director of building innovations in the Mid-Atlantic Region for the “Build with Strength” program, where he oversaw promotions and operations across eight states. In this role, he actively engaged with stakeholders in the building design and construction communities, educating them about the benefits of ready-mixed concrete in low- to mid-rise commercial construction.
Gordon has over 36 years of experience as a design architect and large-project construction manager, having worked on projects with institutions like the Tennessee Valley Authority and Oak Ridge National Laboratory, as well as various architecture, engineering and construction firms.
Gordon lives with his wife, Susan, who is a nurse, in Knoxville, Tennessee, where they raised their children. His hobbies include golf, traveling, mountain biking, being in the mountains, and spending time with family and friends.
“We’re incredibly excited to have Frank on board,” said Brian Corder, BuildBlock president and CEO. “His proven track record in ICF design and construction, combined with his dedication to sustainable, resilient and energy-efficient concrete construction, makes him a valuable asset to our team. We’re confident his leadership and expertise will help us better serve our customers.”
