Walls & Ceilings Editor John Wyatt speaks with Brandon Gallegos, Principal and Owner of G&G Insulation of Meridian, Idaho. The magazine met up with this September at the Annual ICAA Trade Show in Chicago. For the February issue, the magazine features G&G Insulation as its coverstar.

“Going to an industry event is always great because you get to reconnect with people you met years ago,” Gallegos says, who also runs the company with his wife Whitney, where they have two shops. He says the year is shaping up to be strong, reporting that last year was a bit spotty.

Founded on hard work, honesty and dependability by Glenn & Grant Farmer in 1951, G&G Insulation has remained a respected name in Idaho insulation for several decades.

Now owned and operated by Brandon and Whitney Gallegos, G&G continues to deliver high-quality products and services to the Greater Treasure Valley and Magic Valley regions. They strive to carry on the solid reputation of the G&G name through excellent workmanship on every single project.

The insulation contractor services residential and commercial accounts and installs thermal and acoustical insulation, as well as firestopping.

G&G Insulation started in 1951, and the new runners gained ownership 14 years ago, in 2010.

Origins

According to its principal, Brandon Gallegos, he became involved in the business as a summer job out of high school. Now, more than 32 years later, he is co-owner of the company.

The subcontractor is a member of ICAA, NICE, SRVBCA, MVBA and NAHB.

“In addition to commercial work, [we are involved with] custom homes,” Gallegos says. “I would say our niche services are in the custom home market, working with the customer/contractor to address their areas of concern and work towards their goals of the home, whether that’s energy efficiency, a custom wine cellar or sound concerns.”

Since Gallegos took over the business, has there been a lot of growth? Definitely, Gallegos says, adding that he became co-owner of the company at the downside of the Great Recession, in 2010.
