Knauf Insulation Inc. announced the launch of Knauf Academy virtual reality (VR) training for customers, with support from digital innovation studio Subvrsive.

Knauf has always been focused on providing best-in-class training resources for customers through their Knauf Academy training team. Understanding the importance of product training and being able to reach more customers, Knauf identified the opportunity to use immersive technology to enhance their training.

The manufacturer sought out an innovative partner to support the reimagining of their training programs. Subvrsive emerged as an ideal collaborator to elevate the Knauf Academy education through VR-based simulations. 

“VR training is proven to accelerate users’ ability to be trained, being four times faster than normal,” said Mickey Chastain, senior manager, Knauf Academy. “VR training will also support 3.75 times more engagement than traditional e-learning methods and increase confidence of the learners by 275 percent in applying new skills.”

With the support of Subvrsive, a VR platform was developed that extends the capabilities of the Knauf Academy. This VR solution immerses users in realistic job site simulations where they can learn key insulation installation techniques across residential and commercial environments.
