AWCI President Nancy Brinkerhoff has announced that Michael F. Stark will succeed Steven A. Etkin as executive vice president and CEO of the Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry and the Foundation of the Wall and Ceiling Industry beginning Sept. 9, 2019.

Construction spending declined in June from May 2019 and June 2018 levels, but most categories other than single-family homebuilding ended the first half of the year ahead of the year-to-date totals for 2018, according to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of new federal spending data.

Saxonburg, Penn.-based Brayman Construction and its affiliate, Advanced Construction Robotics, were named as among the most innovative construction firms in the country for creating an autonomous rebar-tying robot for bridge construction projects. 

During its 100th Anniversary Opening Session and Awards Presentation Brunch at the AWCI Convention, held in conjunction with the CISCA Convention and INTEX Expo, the association named Jerry Smith as the president for the 2018-19 term.
