The Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department has been a significant part of life in Prince Frederick, Maryland, for more than 90 years. So, when it came time to replace the aging structure that housed the organization’s Company 2 and its equipment, community was at the heart of the designers’ plans – along with, of course, ensuring rapid access to equipment and up-to-date living quarters.

A Google search for “curved metal framing” brought a homeowner to Flex-Ability Concepts. By watching the company’s YouTube videos, the homeowner realized he could add a focal point and functional range hood to his renovated kitchen—with a Spanish-style curve.

McShane Construction Company was selected by Housing For All, LLC in collaboration with Visionary Ventures, Cordogan Clark & Associates and JTE Real Estate Services to build Fox Valley Apartments in Aurora, Illinois. McShane will renovate two historic school buildings and construct one new building to provide a total of 47 affordable housing units.

On June 16, Gilbane Building Company joined representatives from California Institute of the Arts and HGA Architects to celebrate the beginning of construction at CalArts' A-Block. While the original commercial passenger terminal was constructed in 1952, it wasn’t until the 1990s—when commuter airlines became more prevalent—that Alpena’s civilian air travel expanded enough to qualify for Federal Airport Improvement funds.
