The second annual Stucco LIVE! will continue to showcase best practices for flashing, lathing, and cement plaster applications for residential and commercial installations at World of Concrete.
Since 1987, Capital City Stucco has been an important advocate to exterior plastering and insulating systems from its home base in Canton, Ga., and beyond.
I’ve been using natural cements and natural hydraulic limes in the traditional plastering craft for many years. However, I never had the opportunity to visit a quarry where the unique limestones used to produce them are mined.
Plaster and drywall are both materials in competition with each other to be the finish for walls and ceilings. Plaster has far more history but is more expensive.
The natural designation indicates that the raw material - a type of limestone known as clayey marl - is simply mined and burnt with no further additions.
The Stucco Manufacturers Association will be at the 2019 World of Concrete show, January 22-25, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The association will be hosting its “Stucco Live” event.
