Starting July 25, Simpson Strong-Tie is asking its customers and social media followers to participate in the Building It Forward campaign. The six-week campaign will support the work of Habitat for Humanity in building safe, strong and affordable housing.
Simpson Strong-Tie announced the expansion of its Construction Trades Support program with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley. Formerly held once a year, program events will now take place twice yearly, with an expanded agenda that includes hands-on activities in the plumbing and electrical trades.
Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley has named Annie Kao, Simpson Strong-Tie Vice President of Engineering, to its Board of Directors for the term of July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2024. As a board member, Kao will contribute her expertise to advocate for the building of safe and sustainable housing.
During a time where there is a need for affordable housing, Westlake Royal Building Products, one of North America’s largest manufacturers and distributors of exterior and interior building products, celebrated its 300th home built in partnership with Habitat for Humanity - MidOhio, an organization that aims to build homes, empower families and develop communities. On Thursday, Sept. 15, the keys to a three-bedroom, two-bath single family home were turned over to a partner family in Columbus. For this home, Westlake Royal donated 20 squares of siding, including Exterior Portfolio Vinyl Siding and Portsmouth Shake & Shingles Siding, as well as Royal Shutters, Mounts and Vents accessories - marking its 300th siding donation to Habitat MidOhio over the last 20 years.
This year, Habitat For Humanity has partnered with Build With Strength—a coalition of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA)—to build up to 50 ICF homes in 50 states for Americans in need.
With the COVID-19 pandemic leaving many people unable to find affordable shelter, DuPont will continue to support Habitat for Humanity International to help others around the world.
