The University of Pennsylvania’s $127 million New College House opened for the 2016-17 academic year as the first new student residence on campus since 1972.

USG Corp. announced that James S. Metcalf will retire as chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer, effective Oct. 31, 2016. Metcalf has served as president and chief executive officer since January 2011 and as chairman since December 2011.

KEENE Building Products and Dependable would like to announce the addition to the portfolio of companies owned by KEENE Family Holdings. The Continental Products Company, a manufacturing firm with branded products in the Greenhouse and Log Cabin industry and a strong presence in specialty industrial coatings has been acquired. “We are very interested in growing the industrial portion of our companies along with the branded construction related sales,” said Jim Keene. “This acquisition represents our dedication to the local community as we grow our business.”

ABC Supply said it has entered an agreement with USG Corp. to buy L&W Supply for $670 million in cash and is expected to close before the end of 2016.

Parksite Inc., a building product distributor with ten facilities, has promoted Jim Coulter to Director of Supply Chain. Jim is replacing Steven Schmidt who is retiring after a 41-year career with Parksite.  “Steve has been an integral part of our culture and successes..."
