The American Iron and Steel Institute Standards Council is seeking research proposals for its 2023 Small Project/Fellowship Program. Launched in 2014, AISI’s Small Project/Fellowship Program identifies and provides funding for research projects that will significantly impact the reliability, performance and cost-competitiveness of cold-formed steel products.
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) today announced it has been reaccredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under its recently revised operating procedures for documenting consensus on AISI-sponsored American National Standards.
AISI has published AISI D114-21, “Cold-Formed Steel Clip Angle Design Guide, 2021 Edition,” a new publication that provides practical guidance on the design of cold-formed steel clip angles.
Jonathan Humble, regional director of the AISI Construction Technical Program, was installed as an Honorary Member of the International Code Council (ICC).
AISI has published AISI S250-21, as a source for calculating the thermal transmittance (U-factors) of walls and ceiling/roof envelope assembles that contain cold-formed steel framing.
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) are joining the National Science Foundation (NSF); the American Society of Civil Engineers, Committee of Cold-Formed Members; and the University of North Texas as co-sponsors of the fifth International Student Competition on Cold-Formed Steel Design.
