The Educational Foundation of the International Furnishings and Design Association is pleased to announce its design student scholarship winners for 2022. Since the early years of this 75-year-old global design industry alliance, EF has awarded scholarships to high-achieving design students.
AGC and Procore Technologies, Inc. announced that they have met their initial fundraising goal of $500,000 for a new scholarship to support minority students studying construction at the nation’s Historically Black Colleges & Universities. Students will begin receiving the scholarship starting in the 2022-23 school year.

Without question, the building and construction industry has been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Approximately 1.1 million construction jobs were eliminated in the first two months of the pandemic prior to the industry’s designation as “essential.” While the industry has recouped nearly 80 percent of its workforce since then, companies will need to hire another 1 million workers over the next two years to meet the country’s insatiable demand for new home construction and improvement.
