The Steel Framing Industry Association announced that Jay Larson, P.E., F.ASCE, formerly with the American Iron and Steel Institute, has been appointed secretariat of the newly formed SFIA Standards Committee.
The Steel Framing Industry Association announced Aug. 7 that Lee Zaretzky, president of Ronsco, Inc. in New York, has been appointed to serve on its board of directors, representing the contractor members of the association.
Don Allen, P.E., S.E., LEED AP, is the Steel Framing Industry Association’s new executive director, effective Aug. 1. Allen succeeds Larry Williams, who will be retiring.
This year’s annual Steel Framing Industry Association General Session was held at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This year, SFIA President Jim Collins presented to the association’s members.
The Steel Framing Industry Association has launched the Industry Project Awards, an annual competition recognizing excellence in the use of SFIA-certified cold-formed steel products. Architects, engineers, manufacturers, distributors, contractors and others can enter projects in the 2023 competition, so long as the projects feature SFIA-certified CFS products and the entrants themselves are SFIA members.
