There are many types of ceiling hangers used on today’s construction projects, including powder-actuated fastening systems, post-installed concrete anchors and eye lag screws. Other hanger types may consist of wires alone without pre-mounted fasteners, anchors or ceiling clips.
Q. On a recent project, we installed steel studs to the underside of the grid system for a suspended acoustical ceiling. I used screws to attach the runner track to the ceiling grid. I then installed my “kickers,” or permanent bracing to the structure above. I was then told to go back and remove all the temporary screws to allow the ceiling to float. Why?
A veneer plaster system is a thin coat of plaster, usually 3/32 inch, over a gypsum-based panel. The reason for specifying a veneer plaster is typically to achieve a hard, abuse-resistant monolithic surface.
